With Crown Resorts announcing today they would accept the Blackstone takeover bid, the Alliance is calling for stronger legislation and a regulator with teeth to properly hold them accountable.

Tim Costello, the Chief Advocate for the Alliance says:

“It doesn’t matter who is at the helm of Crown, without stronger legislation and regulators with teeth, causing harm will continue to be a part of their business model.

“Throughout the Royal Commission in Victoria last year we heard story after story of abuse inflicted by Crown – just because the casino has changed hands doesn’t mean Blackstone can forget past sins.

“Now more than ever we need our MPs to finally step up and hold these corporations accountable for their actions.

“That means legislating harm reduction measures, funding support services for those experiencing hardship, and listening to the experts.
