MARTIN THOMAS

Chief Executive Officer

Martin Thomas is a seasoned leader in the not-for-profit sector with over 20 years of experience driving social impact across Australia and internationally. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Habitat for Humanity Australia and held senior leadership roles with Mission Australia, World Vision, and UNICEF Australia, where he led strategic initiatives in advocacy, communications, and public affairs.

 

Before transitioning to the not-for-profit sector, Martin built a successful career in journalism. He worked with major metropolitan and national newspapers in Australia, holding key editorial positions including Business Editor and Chief of Staff. His strong background in media has underpinned his expertise in communications, policy development, and stakeholder engagement.

 

Martin joined the Alliance for Gambling Reform as a consultant before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in June 2024, bringing his extensive experience and commitment to advocacy to the role.
