Another year, another record high for gambling losses from poker machines across Australia.
Recent analysis shows that losses to poker machines across Australia in the last financial year ballooned to $14.5 billion – that’s 13.7% higher than the previous record high in 2018/19 (before Covid impacted opening hours).
How does your state fare you might wonder?
How can our state and territory governments let this happen again? When will they take decisive evidence-backed action to protect our communities from gambling harm?

The results are already in. Mandatory pre-commitment with default and binding limits is the winner in trials and academic research all around the world.
We want the change that has been declared as the gold standard to reduce gambling harm – a mandatory pre-commitment gambling system with binding and default limits.

We won’t settle for bronze or silver. Not while Australian’s are suffering levels of gambling harm per capita not experienced anywhere else in the world.
